We do our best to deliver high-quality programs that are affordable and accessible to groups large and small.
By the same token, we expect that the groups with whom we partner will respect and appropriately compensate the expertise and decades of experience we bring as researchers, public historians, speakers, authors, filmmakers, cross-cultural dialogue facilitators, teachers, program/project managers, and consultants.
In order to balance our desire to make our programs accessible to as many groups as possible while also ensuring we can earn a living doing this important work, we use a sliding fee structure based on organization type and size.
Our fees are not based on the number of participants in attendance. For business clients, the number of employees listed in the charts below reflects the overall business size, not the number of participants.
If your organization finds our fee scale unworkable, please contact us and we will work with you.
These presentations are any length up to 2.5 hours and may include Q&A. They include multimedia elements and audience polling to enhance engagement, but no breakout rooms. The prices below are for a single presenter; for some topics and/or audiences, there may be reasons to include 2 presenters. For this we most often charge an extra $500, or sometimes up to 150% of the base fee.
The pricing below is for programs that are workshop length (2.5 – 4 hours) but don’t include facilitated dialogue. We may incorporate non-facilitated breakout rooms with discussion prompts for “pair sharing” or “table talk.”
DDD sessions are 2.5 – 4 hours long and are generally delivered as a series of 6-8 sequential sessions with the same attendees (a cohort) committed to attending every session. Each Deep Dive Dialogue session builds upon previous sessions, from introductory to advanced topics. Sessions include a short educational presentation and/or experiential activity to stimulate productive small group dialogue and discussion, led by our expert Dialogue Facilitators. We carefully curate the flow and sequencing of the workshop for maximum participant engagement and support. Full day programs are a little less than twice the cost; ask us for a quote if desired. Due to the intense preparation and customization involved, we generally initiate only 1 DDD series every few months, working with one client at a time during that period. DDD series are best conducted in person, though during the COVID pandemic, we managed to conduct a DDD series online.
Pricing for our dialogue programs has 2 components:
Base price listed in chart below, which covers the trainers’ time for planning and delivery
Plus the cost of one facilitator for every small group of 4-5 participants = $340 x number of small groups (no more than 5 participants each) x number of sessions
For example, if you were looking for training for your school district, training 30 participants over a series of 4 sessions that are 4 hours each, the total price for the series would be $33,200 total:
$6,500 per workshop x 4 sessions = $26,000
Plus $340 x 6 facilitators x 4 sessions = $8,160
We are available for consulting, technical support, program/curriculum development, grant writing assistance, and project management services on an hourly basis.
We offer up to an hour and a half of free consultation – by phone or video conference – at the start of a new project or program. This is an opportunity for our potential client to describe their needs and discuss how we might tailor our services to meet these. Thereafter, consultation meetings lasting over 15 minutes will be billed. Project work that is largely logistical will be conducted by email.
